P6/7 had a fun introduction to Newton’s Laws of motion. They began by mixing Cornflour and water to make a non-Newtonian substance that is neither entirely solid or liquid. Once that mess was tidied they experimented with inertia and were able (mostly!) to drop coins and eggs into containers when the structures they were balanced on were flicked away. When that mess was tidied they made paper helicopters and when that mess was tidied they timed toy cars on slopes to discover a link between force and speed.
